Volunteer Works

Through volunteering, I have offered and applied my educational and professional experiences in services to different technical organizations. Thus, I’ve had the opportunity to build a strong, diverse skill set that has proven to be an asset in many different situations.

IFS Delegate, RUFORUM Triennial Conference, Cotonou, Benin-Republic.

The International Foundation for Science (IFS) organized a side-event facilitated by IFS alumni team from Nigeria, Benin Republic and Kenya. The Side Event was carried out to attract key stakeholders at RUFORUM conference with much-needed experience and insights to inform the ongoing “IFS 2.0”assessment. The outcome of the dialogue was documented and shared with the IFS secretariat.

Soapbox science gave me the platform and the opportunity to reach out in the most simple way and explain my scientific research studies to all on the street. This is to encourage girls to pick up a career in STEMM.

YIIFSWA Project's NACGRAB Focal Officer (2013 - 2021)

As the focal person for the project tagged "Yam Improvement for Income and Food Security in West Africa" (YIIFSWA I & II) in NACGRAB, a collaborative project of International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in which NACGRAB, is a sub-grantee. IITA had the responsibility of improving yam quality for farmer’s benefit so as to ensure food security in West Africa and the Tissue Culture Unit of NACGRAB was brought in as a sub-grantee with the responsibility of rapidly micro-propagating the yam nuclear seeds and generating sufficient quantities of breeder seeds for end users. As the lead researcher, I passionately coordinated the research activities and ensured the successful delivery of the expected output. I also corresponds for NACGRAB and gave several technical presentations, prepared and submitted detailed progress and financial reports among others as the authorized desk officer to IITA.
