Research may be done seamlessly on your own side of the world, to that I will say "Lucky you".
But as for me and my colleagues on this side (Nigeria), Research is painstakingly carried out with less than nothing support and no appreciation of the researcher's efforts.
The love for research is quickly pulled down by several disappointments, especially the required financial support.
We struggled through school, doing our projects mainly with family support.
We got employed as public research officers and funding is still monstrously a problem.
But we have learned to cope. I have learned to share my ideas with the world and find support globally.
That way, I can say that I have been managing my gulf without being discouraged.
